Black Walnut Lazy Susan--This revolving serving tray is the ideal centerpiece for your table or kitchen island

The origin of the name "Lazy Susan" is quite the mystery but its functionality in the kitchen or dining room will never be questioned.  This solid wood centerpiece is a favorite for your table or kitchen island and has been around since the 1700s.  Also called a dumbwaiter, for quietly (hence the 'dumb' part) replacing the waiters in the dining room,  the "lazy" part of the name is quite self-explanatory.  The "Susan" part of the name is the part that is baffling.  Some say Thomas Jefferson is the inventor, others say Thomas Edison, who invented the turntable with similar design and function.  Whoever deserves the credit, we simply say "thank you" for this fabulous serving piece.
