This quilt is a modern rendition of the traditional hexagonal arrangement quilt block known as "Grandma's Garden". The quilter was inspired by getting lost in her own grandmother's garden of giant zinnias and dahlias.

The hexagons are hand appliquéd to the background with spaces in between. The blank areas represent being lost and the free-motion-quilting loopy switchback stitches add a fun texture.
