Downtown Celebrity
It’s another wonderful Friday at Completely Kentucky! I was sad to miss posting last week’s blog; I was busy celebrating Frankfort High Homecoming! It was exciting to drive down Broadway during the parade and see Ann, Elle, and Sherri holding signs outside of the store. I have felt so welcome and loved here. Each of the employees is kind, thoughtful, and supportive.
I returned back “to the office” on Tuesday, and was welcomed by one of my favorite families, the Dean’s. Mia and Melissa made a trip down to the store to shop for a friend’s birthday party. It was so fun to help them browse the store and find the perfect gift, a beautiful blue flower vase. Just as the girls headed next door for some treats at the Coffee Tree, Melissa’s mom came through the door! She was shopping for an entirely different occasion, and didn’t even know her daughter and granddaughter were downtown! One of my favorite things about working here is the sense of community. Not only do I run into close family friends, but I get to meet visitors from out of town who have amazing stories.
Among these visitors was one the current hottest celebrities downtown: David Carmack Lewis. This talented muralist has been painting downtown on the left side of Broadway Clay for a couple of weeks now. He strolled into the store to buy some Kentucky gifts for his children back in Oregon before he left. The downtown community is so excited about his beautiful depiction of a stargazing scene in a theatre. Tonight at 5:00 you can stop by the mural dedication and see it for yourself! Funny enough, when the Homecoming parade passed Broadway Clay last Friday, I noticed Mr. Lewis watching the traffic amid a break on his lift!
It’s been a fun week with lots of preparation for Candlelight and the Christmas season. We even wrapped a gift with red and green ribbon this week… It will be here sooner than we know it. Thanks for reading!
