Doshie, the thrifting, squirrel-chasing support superstar

Meet Doshie, a 4-year-old Black Mouth Cur with a heart as big as her bark. She knows the neighborhood, knows the people (especially our own Sherri!), and definitely knows where all the squirrels like to hang out.Rescued as a pup from Fairytales Pet Adoptions, Doshie has since stepped into a very important role: emotional support dog extraordinaire. She’s not just there to provide comfort and cuddles—though she excels at both—she’s part of a dynamic emotional support duo. That’s right. Her best friend is a cat. A cat. Together, they’re basically the Batman and Robin of emotional wellness, minus the capes (but not for lack of trying).Doshie is a regular at New Leash on Life, where she loves to go “sniff-shopping.” Whether it’s pre-loved shoes, gently worn denim, or a squeaky toy hiding in the toy bin, she always finds a treasure.And squirrels? Don’t even get her started. They are her sworn frenemies—endlessly fascinating, forever out of reach, and probably laughing at her from the trees. It’s a healthy obsession, we promise.We love when Doshie drops by with her human. Her tail wags, her soulful eyes, and her gentle presence remind us why dogs like her truly are life’s best therapy. Here’s to many more visits, more thrift finds, and maybe, just maybe, catching that one lucky squirrel someday.
